Customers say
Customers like the comfort, quality, and look of the shorts. They mention they hug them in all the right spots, are well-stitched, and made from a nice fabric. Some also like the stretchiness and value for money. However, some dislike the button closure and disagree on the fit.

Great shorts for real men 🙂
It seems like men’s shorts have come down almost to the knees for the past 30 years or so. So this is a fairly retro style of shorts using a very modern fabric that stretches and moves well with you and feels great against the skin. This also means there are no (potentially inappropriate) gaps at the leg. They’re not tight. They just fit well. They are comfortable and move well with you. If you wear underwear with them, you’ll need either briefs or a fairly abbreviated boxer style. I wish there were two back pockets rather than just one, but these are very good, very comfortable shorts.

Review from an Athletic Heavier Build
Body Measurements:Height: 6âWeight: 275 lbsPant size: 38w x 32lThigh measurements: mid thigh 28â lower thigh 22âOpinion:Fits well, looks good, feels good. Itâs hard for me to find shorts that arenât strangling my thick thighs. The 3XL gives me the perfect amount of looseness around the thighs but the waist is a hair big. At my current weight I wonât need a belt but if I were to lose 10-20 lbs Iâd need a belt. If youâre about my size you might be able to get away with 2XL but I donât have one to review. Overall I like the 3XL and give it a 5 star. Iâd give it a 4 because of the waist but thatâs part of having an athletic build.

WARNING: Be sure MERIPEX APPAREL is the SELLER is on your order for these shorts
The actual Meripex shorts are super. Great length, super fit, high-quality soft canvas fabric. As someone has mentioned, the button may not be well attached, but that’s the only problem I’ve seen in previous orders.HOWEVER, be sure the seller on your order is MERIPEX APPAREL.LOOK OUT FOR XZFeiYue-US. That one, XZFeiYue-US (apparently an offshore athletic shoe company) is selling something you may find on the sales page here and looking exactly like a pair of Meripex on the site, but at a lesser price. IT’S NOT Meripex. I got a black and khaki pair. Both are an entirely different short. (See my photo — no branding, wrong fabric, wrong fit, wrong inseam length, entirely wrong product.) No other manufacturer identified, either. One good way to tell: The true Meripex short does not have a left-side hip pocket. The only back pocket on a genuine pair of these Meripex shorts is on the right. Notice in the photo: On the khaki pair, you can see back pockets on both sides of the short. (And with a flap, too, not something Meripex does on its hip pockets.) Also, if it’s a true Meripex, that label will be prominently displayed on the lip of that right-side (only) hip pocket, as well as on the inside back of the waistband. Nothing on these shorts says Meripex. They are not Meripex. They’re a scam.As I have reported to Amazon — and a ticket has been raised — XZFeiYue-US is selling something it says is a Meripex short and it’s not. The return process is diffiult, too. They send you only an inside-package return authorization code, not a shipping label. So when you’re choosing a pair and getting them into your cart or order MAKE SURE THEY’RE SOLD BY MERIPEX APPAREL and shipped by Amazon, and they’ll be what you’re looking for.

Strongman approves!
I search high and low for shorts that fir my strongman athlete of a husband- that means big butt and massive quads. He also has short legs and is picky about things stretching to allow him to squat in anything he wears.THESE ARE THE GOLDEN TICKET!The waste band is stretchy so they don’t restrict him. Thr behind acrually fits ovwr his buns and stays up at his waste. The leg hole is big enough for his legs eithout cutting off circulation when he sits. They are short enough to look good on him and not drag below his knees. And there’s not the weird pouch of excess fabric in the front that makes men with big legs look awkward.Seriously these are amazing. I’ve never heard him tell me something is perfectly comfortable. But he did with these!Considerations: the sizing is weird. He’s generally a 2XL or size 42. We ordered 4XL and they fit perfectly. Also, they stretch with wear a bit. So at first try on they seemed uncomfortable. After an hour in them he said they were the most comfortable “nice” shorts he’s ever worn. The waist was overall a bit big, but in an okay way, he can wear a belt easily with them.

New favorite shorts
New favorite shorts for sure. Great comfortable fit above knee length. Only personal change is make is add another back pocket to the left side but otherwise solid shorts

Sizing is hit or miss
I ordered one of these in Large and two of these in Medium (me-32 inch waist) and wear I medium in most shorts. The large was way to big. The mediums were 2 different colors, original khaki and stone khaki. The stone khaki fit great however the original khaki fit more like a large. The leg opening were 0.5 to 0.75 inch wider and the overall width through the waist and hip was larger by about the same dimensions. I sent that one back and kept the stone khaki ones that were smaller everywhere. Then I took a chance and ordered the 7″ inseam pair in medium but had to send those back as well because they were too big as well. These are very hit or miss with the sizing, maybe I just needed a small, idk. I wouldn’t order these unless you have prime for free returns. Quality control on sizing seems like an issue to me. I do like the ones that I kept though.

Sizing up if in between sizes
Appearance: Love that they have a high end appearance when worn with a shirt.Fit: My husband loved the feel of them and the stretchiness vs true chubbies. The sizing was a little off in my opinion when compared to a navy pair that were the same price.Washability: we also felt like they shrunk a little once they had been washed.Great value for the money but if youâre in between sizes or have large quads size up!

The material seems to be good quality, but these shorts have only only 3 pockets and only 5 belt loops insteadof 7 like all the shorts I’ve been for over 40 years

Fit as expected.
